About the project 'Stories on the move'

stories on the move

This is a social media platform, a ‘blog of blogs’ where the contributors will be able to tell their own stories of living and working across borders (personal ‘mini-blogs’).  With this blog of blogs, we keep a diary – blog which documents your own personal experiences of events /stories of regularly working across geographical locations. That is, we travel a lot for work and spend time working across cities, countries or places.

The diary should be in the form of a personal narrative – diary accounts of experiences, feelings, thoughts that you are going through, within and outside work contexts. We contribute in narrative style, focusing on reflexive and relaxed ‘free expression and association’. That is, thoughts, emotions, images, all the senses, experiences of physical space, and the like can be discussed as lived in the moment. We are particularly interested in experiences of mobility, being and working across different locations, switching between different languages, and more. These experiences might include interactions with colleagues (e.g., superiors, peers, subordinates), family, friends and neighbours and the wider community within which you currently live.

These experiences might also include interactions with similar others who are back in your country of origin and so are experiences with your home culture after living abroad. This social media platform will allow participants to reach out and connect with others experiencing global careers and co-create an online community of practice.

Join us and  become part of Stories on the Move. As a contributor, you will access and share personal diaries/stories, images and videos and connect with others, co-creating this Work-Place Community.
